The story of a woman with a magical gift and a terrifying secret

A London art broker travels to Copenhagen, where he requires the services of a multilingual secretary. He falls deeply in love with the woman, despite knowing virtually nothing about her. She insists on not being married in a church, and after they're wed, some bad things from her past begin surfacing in subtly supernatural ways, and the new husband must find the best way to cope without destroying their relationship.
